The mind indeed is a complicated phenomenon & as rightly said by the admin it is the difference between head & heart. With the help of the sadhana the seeker should try to attain the ‘NO MIND’state.IT means your head & heart should unanimously reach the same conclusion.I think for that your head should rule your heart & your heart should control your head,so that they reach the same point at the same time.

hi, listened to the audio on ‘ego’ …. the classification is very precise n simplified…. but it makes me realise very few people r driven by purpose….very few people know wat they r doing with their lives….very few r truely happy doing watever they have chosen to do…. so most of them fall in the desire category….. n these ‘most’ includes me…..my question is how do i know wat i truely want to do or wud b happy doing ? coz wat u do is usually influence by ur elders and its commercial viability… (how much would it pay u?)…n u feel guilty if u dnt live upto someones expectations….n sometimes u just have a weak drive to do something in life…. how does one get out of this viscious circle…..

essentially, the one thing in life that you have to realize is that you never can be truly happy, unless you really “want” to be happy in the first place. If there is a desire in yourself to always be happy and contented irrespective of the situations around you, you will never feel lonely or dejected. There is no problem in pursuing your desires, for ultimately many a times, your desires lead you to your purpose. The purpose manifests itself in due time. Whatever the situation, a person must always strive to be productive and creative at all times. that will not only improve his state of mind, but also yield him success in materialistic as well as spiritual pursuits…

‘Ego’ is the biggest obstacle for a seeker on the spiritual path.It is very difficult to leave ego as many people feel they will lose their identity if they leave their ego.For them it is a question of their survival. In the spiritual path total surrender is what is expected form the seeker. We hope to hear more on this topic.

It’s my fault, I revert back from my comments regarding ‘The Ego Demystified Part 3 (Spiritual Identity)’. I think some network connection problem.

It’s wonderful that passion ( read as desire ) is required to achieve whether in materialism or spiritualism, yet one has to be detached from the passion … in terms of identifying with it. One has to watch this interplay as a third person as to how thoughts blossom and die out … Simple but extremely difficult to practice as in a jiffy , we self identify with our thoughts so they transform into desires , and actions .

    Regards,

    Atul

the ego demystified 3….if the ego is unrequitted desires and karma, would it be right to say that in this birth part of the ego is already existant with birth and desires unsatisfied keep adding and buildingup the ego to a point where it prevents one from seeing the divinity present in each one of us…unquestionedly i would say that it needs a Master,Guru to bring one back on track

  • By admin, October 26, 2009 @ 11:46 pm

yup that’s it.. and that is precisely what the “identity” of any human being constitutes…:)

  • By Charvee, October 31, 2009 @ 7:12 pm

Heard th discussions but i have a question…..
We r saying here is that Ego at sum point would start losing its desires and would , from being human would become divine, then in that matter, won’t a human being become an ideal human being, or attain divinity or sum1 who can live life without sinful indulgences?? Is it not called perfect life??
How can anything/anyone in this world be perfect?

and another question, “Silentium” means obscurity or stillness, but just a curiosity, y the name?

  • By admin, November 1, 2009 @ 1:49 am

@ charvee yes the human being in that case would be an ideal human being. you have to understand the fact that when looked at objectively and dispassionately, you realize that no indulgence is in fact a sin. It is only the weakness that is derived from that senseless instinctive indulgence that clings on to the human being like a leech and prevents him from truly realizing his own potential…:)

Silentium is latin for silence, stillness, completeness, flawlessness and perfection. (it also means obscurity; but that was not the meaning that we were looking for…)

Not able to run , video discourse. Every cliping is haulted friquently, audio qulity is also very low.

  • By admin, November 3, 2009 @ 6:02 pm

ya that is because you probably have a low-speed connection. just play the video and then pause it for a minute or two; then play it again. it will play seamlessly.
audio quality is fair…not the best; but pretty much the standard for internet video.
